“Bill Skarsgard” dalam “IT” movie

Baru – baru ini film ‘IT’ arahan sutradara terkenal Stephen King dirilis tanggal 8 September 2017 kemarin. Film bergenre horror-drama ini memberikan warna baru dalam perfilman hollywood dengan hadirnya aktor – aktor pendatang baru, seperti Jaeden Lieberher, Jack Dylan Grazer, Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs, dll.

Tak kalah menarik dari aktor – aktor diatas, Bill Istvan Günther Skarsgård alias Bill Skarsgard aktor kelahiran 9 Agustus 1990 asal Swedia yang terkenal melalui filmnya ‘Simple Simon‘ pada tahun 2010 rela membiarkan wajah tampan dipoles sedemikian rupa menjadi badut Pennywise dalam film ini.

Bill Skarsgard merupakan salah satu anggota keluarga Skarsgard, dimana dia merupakan adik dari aktor terkenal  Alexander Skarsgard, aktor yg bermain dalam film The Legend of Tarzan, juga Bill adalah anak dari aktor terkenal Swedia Stellan Skarsgard.

Demi mempelajari karakter Pennywise, Bill Skarsgard membaca novel It sampai tuntas. Dia menyelesaikan novel setebal 1.200 halaman itu hanya dalam 10 hari.

“Kalau tidak membaca di rumah, saya mendengarkan audiobook-nya sambil berbelanja,” tutur Skarsgard.

Selain itu, dia juga menonton film televisi It yang dirilis pada 1990. Namun dia tetap mencari sendiri Pennywise versinya, yang lebih modern dan lebih gelap dibandingkan yang diperankan aktor Tim Curry. 

Proses mengubah penampilan seorang Bill Skarsgard menjadi badut Pennywise membutuhkan waktu 2,5 jam setiap kali shooting. Namun bukan itu yang menurutnya melelahkan.

Berperan sebagai Pennywise, tidak ada adegan santai baginya, menikmati secangkir kopi misalnya.

“Semua (adegan) yang saya jalani memerlukan 100 persen energi saya. Pennywise ini karakter paling melelahkan yang pernah saya perankan, secara fisik maupun mental,” kata Skarsgard.

Bill Skarsgard mengaku sangat menikmati perannya sebagai Pennywise. Ternyata sulit baginya untuk melepas karakter itu setelah menyelesaikan shooting. Dia pulang di Swedia begitu proses pengambilan gambar selesai.

“Selama dua minggu berikutnya saya bermimpi buruk tentang Pennywise,” kata Skarsgard.
Namun dia tidak kapok berperan sebagai badut Pennywise.

“Saya bersenang-senang dengan karakter Pennywise dan sudah tidak sabar memakai kostum itu lagi untuk sekuelnya,” lanjutnya.

All about Michael Fass(y)bender

Michael Fassbender was born in Heidelberg, Germany, to a German father, Josef, and an Irish mother, Adele (originally from Larne, County Antrim, in Northern Ireland). Michael was raised in the town of Killarney, Co. Kerry, in south-west Ireland, where his family moved to when he was two years old. His parents ran a restaurant (his father is a chef).

Fassbender is based in London, England, and became known in the U.S. after his role in the Quentin Tarantino‘s Inglourious Basterds (2009). In 2011, Fassbender debuted as the Marvel antihero Magneto in the prequel X-Men: First Class (2011); he would go on to share the role with Ian McKellen in X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014). Also in 2011, Fassbender’s performance as a sex addict in Shame (2011) received critical acclaim. He won the Volpi Cup for Best Actor at the Venice Film Festival and was nominated for Golden Globe and BAFTA Awards. In 2013, his role as slave owner Edwin Epps in slavery epic 12 Years a Slave (2013) was similarly praised, earning him his first Oscar nomination, for Best Supporting Actor. 12 Years a Slave marked Fassbender’s third collaboration with Steve McQueen, who also directed Hunger and Shame. In 2013, Fassbender appeared in another Ridley Scott film, The Counsellor (2013). In 2015, he portrayed Steve Jobs (2015) in the Danny Boyle-directed biopic of the same name, and played Macbeth (2015) in Justin Kurzel’s adaptation of William Shakespeare’s play. For the former, he has received Academy Award, BAFTA, Golden Globe and SAG nominations for Best Actor. As well as acting, Fassbender produced the 2015 western Slow West(2015), which he also starred in.

Here’s everything you need to know about Johnny Depp in the ‘Fantastic Beasts’

If you’ve read up on “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” in the last few weeks, it’s really no longer a secret: Johnny Depp is playing Gellert Grindelwald in the “Harry Potter” spin-off franchise.

He has a very brief (and cleverly placed) cameo in “Fantastic Beasts” (opening in theaters on Friday), but Depp will really sink his teeth into the character for the sequel, which is currently set for a 2018 release.

For “Fantastic Beasts” producer David Heyman, the casting of Depp was a no-brainer.

“Grindelwald is a major character and it’s pretty big shoes to fill,” Heyman recently told Business Insider. “So you want someone who is charismatic, who is brave as an actor, who can stand up and is iconic. Johnny is one of the few actors who has created several iconic characters and he’s brave, he’s a great artist, he’s a great actor. So we went to Johnny and he said yes.”

Heyman said Depp was cast a year and a half ago, after principal photography on “Fantastic Beasts” had wrapped. Depp came on for a few additional shooting days in the beginning of 2016.

Set in the late 1920s, “Fantastic Beasts” follows Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne), a wizard who is in the midst of taking a break in New York City from studying beasts around the world. But when the beasts begin to escape from his suitcase, the race is on to capture them all.

The subplot to that involves dark wizard Grindelwald, who is wreaking havoc in Europe and could be heading toward the US.

“Fantastic Beasts 2” will likely delve deeper into the relationship between Gindelwald and Albus Dumbledore, a character Heyman confirmed to Business Insider will also be in the sequel.

Recently, press attention to Depp has been more focused on his private life than his screen work.

In May, actress Amber Heard filed for divorce from Depp after 15 months of marriage. Less than a week later she filed a domestic violence restraining order against Depp. In August they settled the case.

Though Depp was cast in the franchise long before the divorce and domestic abuse case, it’ll be interesting to see if fan reaction to the casting will affect how “Fantastic Beasts” screenwriter/“Harry Potter” creator J.K. Rowling and director David Yates use the Grindelwald character moving forward.

At the moment, Rowling is keeping the focus on Depp’s talents, saying at the film’s premiere that she’s “delighted” by the casting and that he’s done “incredible things” with the role already.
